Think Outside the Aisle

Last month was just the craziest month I’ve had all year. I shot this wedding in between trips to Chicago. I actually came back just to shoot the wedding. It was really my pleasure to make it back. Caity and Brody were the sweetest couple to work with. Their love and respect for one another was immense. It was obvious they both felt that they had won the ultimate prize by marring each other.

My only complaint about the day was the horrible lighting in the church. I’m a jpg. shooter but I switched to raw for the ceremony. The overhead lighting was pink and orange which is a photographers white balance nightmare! I also added a side light to give some separation and more light to the already harsh can lighting.  At the last minute I was given the unexpected invisible boundary speech by the church staff and told if I crossed it they would stop the ceremony. Come to find out I was only allowed in the aisle which for me is not my favorite place to be. I made it work by going outside and grabbing a few shots through the window so the couple would have more than one view of their ceremony. Think outside the aisle is what I say!
Happy Holidays!

Luv this!!! Great work!

Adam & Faith + Four.

I’ve been traveling a lot these days for shoots and have been longing to spend time in the O.C. with friends. I set up a meeting with Adam and his wife Faith because I’ve been wanting to get to know them and their family better. Adam is also a photographer so I couldn’t think of a better way to do it than through a photo shoot. They have four of the most adorable little girls on the planet and who doesn’t like to take pictures of cute kids. I had a lot of fun watching how Adam and Faith interacting with their girls. I can’t imagine having 4 girls before I’m 30 but they do it so well. You can find Adams Photography Here.

Very nice post, Chris. Thanks so much for the photo shoot. We really like the images you captured.

Caity + Brody {engaged!}

Caity had more laughs and giggles than anyone I’ve ever shot. A true sweetheart! Brody was incredibly gentle and kind. Underneath though he is a tough guy that works with special opps in the military. A perfect match. Can’t wait to shoot the wedding!
